Rudy Horist is a 21-year member of the fire service, currently serving as a Captain for the Elgin Fire Department. His experience includes 17 years as an instructor, 8 years as a Director of a regional fire academy in suburban Chicago and 5 years as the department's Training and Safety Officer. He has taught students from throughout the state of Illinois for the Illinois Society of Fire Service Instructors and the Illinois Fire Service Institute. Rudy has been a presenter at FDIC for the past 3 years. Rudy is presently the president of the Illinois Society of Fire Service Instructors.
