Description
For fire brigade and safety personnel and individuals responsible for fire prevention and protection in business and industry.
 
This class is a mix of classroom instruction with field training on basic and advanced fire ground evolutions. You will learn about the causes of fire, chemistry and extinguishing of fires, fire attack principles, fire protection systems, and uses of fire hoses. Classroom sessions focus on how to organize and maintain a good industrial fire brigade and deal with relevant problems and issues that firefighters face everyday. You will gain hands-on experience with live propane, magnesium fires, the latest in use of firefighting foam, and participate in self-contained breathing exercises in safe smoke with tower evolutions.

Special Requirements
36-hour minimum certification. You should bring full turn-out gear and SCBA with an extra tank if possible. Bearded students will not be permitted to participate in hands-on training with SCBA.
