Description
For firefighters who want an intense and innovative class that will challenge their tactical and technical ability in all aspects of structural firefighting.
 
The goal of this class is to increase your capabilities as a complete firefighter. The hands-on training and scenarios provide a focused, practical approach to firefighting that will invigorate your love for the fundamentals, teach you tricks of the trade that only come from experience, and advance your overall skills. Training will include truck and engine operations, search and rescue, self-rescue, and live fire attack.

Special Requirements
You must supply a fit for duty form with chief's signature. Student must supply a copy of a valid Ohio 36-hour Volunteer or 240-hour Basic Firefighter certificate, or equivalent, with registration form. As an OFA requirement for use of the mobile fire lab, registrants with an Ohio 36-hour certificate and less than three years of experience will be required to submit a letter from their fire chief stating prior live fire training. Participants must be in good physical condition and bring protective clothing and SCBA with two extra cylinders. BEARDS ARE NOT PERMITTED. Long-sleeve shirts and pants (high cotton content preferred) are required. You are responsible for your own transportation. PPE Requirements: Coat and pants with liner and moisture barrier (NFPA 1971-1986 edition), gloves (NFPA 1973-1083 edition), helmet (NFPA 1972-1986 edition), Nomex or PBI Hood, SCBA with two full bottles. SFS instructors reserve the right to approve or reject any and all protective clothing or SCBA equipment.
