Forensic Diving

 

Description
This class is for public safety divers who are interested in obtaining the latest information on underwater investigation. Forensic diver students will gain an understanding of the management of incidents such as: boating accidents, suicide, homicide, swimming fatalities, diving fatalities, ice rescue, and evidence recovery and handling. Environmental hazards and stress management will also be covered. Students will have the opportunity to work with underwater investigative tools including metal detection, sonar and underwater camera equipment. Contaminated water diving and decontamination techniques will also be covered.

Special Requirements
You are required to bring all personal dive gear including a wet, or preferably, a dry suit. You must bring a copy of a statement from your physician that you are fit to dive.
